Research & AI Transparency Statement

My articles, reports, analyses, and commentary are developed through a research-driven workflow that combines independent source review, personal judgment, and AI-assisted organization.

When researching a topic, I prioritize primary sources whenever possible, including official documents, public records, regulations, agency guidance, court filings, company materials, technical publications, and other direct source material. When primary sources are unavailable or incomplete, I may consult reputable secondary sources, but I avoid treating commentary, opinion pieces, or unsourced claims as factual authority.

I use AI tools, including Google Gemini, ChatGPT, and NotebookLM, as part of my workflow. Gemini is generally used for current web-based research and source discovery. ChatGPT is generally used for synthesis, document analysis, drafting support, organization, structural refinement, and review of complex source material. NotebookLM is generally used for working within a defined set of uploaded or selected sources, helping me compare documents, locate relevant passages, summarize source-specific information, and maintain closer grounding in the materials being reviewed.

AI tools help me process information, identify gaps, compare material, organize ideas, and improve clarity, but they do not determine my opinions or conclusions.

All final interpretations, arguments, editorial decisions, and conclusions are my own. I treat AI-generated output as assistance, not authority, and I review important factual claims before relying on them. My use of AI does not replace authorship; it supports the research, analysis, and writing process for which I remain responsible.

The following blog articles provide additional detail on how I use AI as part of a human-controlled research, analysis, and writing workflow:
